Five sections: K-2 (unrated), K-5 (unrated), K-12 (unrated), K-12 (USCF rated), Open (USCF rated). The Open section is open to players of all ages and ratings.

Please note: A United States Chess Federation membership is required for all players in the Open and rated K-12 sections.  If your child does not have an active USCF membership, please sign up from this link: https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess

Entry Fee$40 for the USCF-rated Open section $30 for the USCF-rated K-12 section $25 for the unrated K-2, K-5, and K-12 sections
PrizesOpen section: Highest prize fund in the state with 90% of entry fees returned as prize money! All other sections (K-2, K-5, and K-12 unrated and K-12 rated): Trophies for top five in each division, large medals for 6th-10th place. Chess Queen trophy for the top girl in each section. David vs Goliath trophy for the top kindergartener and the top elementary student. Large medals for outstanding sportsmanship awards in each section, and medals for all participants!
RegistrationCheck in is from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Mandatory players meeting will start at 8:30 a.m.
Round TimesRound 1: 9:00; Round 2: 10:00; Round 3: 11:00 followed by a lunch break; Round 4: 12:30 p.m.; Round 5: 1:30 p.m.; Awards Ceremony: 2:30 p.m.

Bye Policy

Anyone not checked in by 8:30 a.m. will get a half-point bye for the first round.

Half-point byes may be requested for any round as long as they are requested prior to the start of the tournament. After the tournament begins, half-point byes may only be requested for rounds 1-3.
