The Denver Chess Club | Located at the Third Christian Reform Church at 2400 S. Ash, Denver, CO 80222 (map). The DCC meets each Tuesday from 6:30pm till the end of the rated games around 10:30. There is a rated 4 round tournament each month with a time control of G/70; d/05. When a month has 5 Tuesdays, then either an extra round, or a separate quick chess tournament on the 5th Tuesday. Typically November and December are combined to make a 6 round tournament, with no play on the Tuesday near the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Registration is from 6:30 to 7:00pm each week. Entry fee for DCC members is $6 per week or $20 per month. Entry fee for non members is $8 or $30. DCC memberships are available for $45 per year or $28 for 6 months. Spectators and causal players are welcome at no charge. Usually each week, Life Master and 7 time state champion, Brian Wall, or another high rated player, will give a chess related lecture from 6:45pm till the start of the rated games at 7:30pm. Denver Chess on Meetup.com | We meet Saturday afternoons at 3 pm, once or twice per month, and we offer casual unrated games as well as lessons for new players.
