Academy International Elementary Chess Club meets Thursday afternoon (school days only) from 3:45 - 4:45. Colorado Springs Scholastic Chess Club meets Monday nights at the Borders Books (in their Café), Chapel Hills Mall, Colorado Springs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Memberships are available to anyone from Kindergarten through 12th grade. We have a formal lesson every week, approximately 30-45 minutes. We hand out chess puzzles every week. We have chess ladder competition, and formal chess club tournament play as well. There is no charge for belonging to our club. We have a lot of fun, promote solid chess play with good sportsmanship, and a comfortable learning environment. Golden High School Chess Club meets during "access" 3 days a week, and we still play occasional matches with the boys at Lookout Mtn. Detention Center. We have approximately 12 members. Rocky Mountain Chess Club has worked in conjunction with Wendell Derritt to sponsor scholastic chess events in Colorado Springs for over two years.
