Academy International Elementary Chess Club meets Thursday afternoon (school days only) from 3:45 - 4:45. Colorado Springs Scholastic Chess Club meets Monday nights at the Borders Books (in their Café), Chapel Hills Mall, Colorado Springs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Memberships are available to anyone from Kindergarten through 12th grade. We have a formal lesson every week, approximately 30-45 minutes. We hand out chess puzzles every week. We have chess ladder competition, and formal chess club tournament play as well. There is no charge for belonging to our club. We have a lot of fun, promote solid chess play with good sportsmanship, and a comfortable learning environment. We take all players regardless of skill level. If you never played before, we will teach you, if you're a seasoned player, we will help you grow. Email for more information.
Denver Chess League is a team competition between Denver and Boulder area schools. Click on the link for a complete crosstable of results and standings.
Golden High School Chess Club meets during "access" 3 days a week, and we still play occasional matches with the boys at Lookout Mtn. Detention Center. We have approximately 12 members. We play some of our scholastic matches at Barnes & Noble at Denver West. Sponsors: Becky Crozier 303-982-4204 and Chris Colucci 303-982-4289. Our President is Clinton King.
Rocky Mountain Chess Club has worked in conjunction with Wendell Derritt to sponsor scholastic chess events in Colorado Springs for over two years. Dedicted to continued excellence in chess instruction, and organization with proceeds going to school chess clubs.
