Denver area

The Denver Chess Club meets on Tuesday nights at the Grant Avenue Community Center and Sacred Place, Inc. at 216 South Grant (3 blocks east of Broadway in the South Broadway area) in Denver. The club meets from 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. Players may come and play pick up games (regular, quick and blitz) at no charge provided the sound level is kept to a minimum. There is a rated game every week as a part of a month-long G90 tournament with registration closing at 6:45 (you may call ahead if you are running late). The cost for the rated game is $6 for members and $8 for non Denver Chess Club members. There are also lectures presented between 6:00 and 7:00 periodically. In addition, the Denver Chess Club will soon run Saturday tournaments again after losing a previous free site. New location for the Aurora Chess Club! Sadly, after 20+ years we are no longer meeting at the Aurora Central Library. Now we meet at the Smoky Hill Library (Smoky Hill and Biscay) All interested person are hereby invited to see our new home. Contact me for questions; Jeff, 303-210-2160. We are keeping our normal time and day; Saturdays, 1-4 pm. They move us (our room) around so be alert and look around... we are there!

Centennial Chess Club offers beginner to intermediate chess for kids & teens. This teen-run group meets twice a month on Sunday afternoon from January-May and September-December at Smoky Hill Library (5430 S. Biscay Circle, Centennial, CO 80015). All skill levels are welcomed. Chess Knights meets on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday Evening from 7-9pm. From 470 & Broadway, on Broadway go 1.3 miles south, at the light, turn right onto Highland Ranch Parkway, go 0.2 miles, to the first light, turn left onto Ridgeline Blvd., go 0.2 miles, the library is on the left. North Jeffco Chess Club an active club for over 33 years, meets every Thursday night at 7:30 PM until 11:00 PM at 10425 W. 64th Place (between Miller St. and Oak St.) in Arvada. Enter at the south west door, we play in the basement. Free coffee or hot tea, plenty of free parking. No cost to join our club. We usually start off playing speed chess, then switch to bug house. jax@well.com

Colorado Springs Area

Colorado Springs Chess Club meets Tuesdays, 7:00, at the Acacia Apartments at Platte & Tejon in downtown Colorado Springs. Many different activities, tournaments. Call Richard Buchanan at (719) 685-1984.

USAF Academy Chess Club meets most Fridays during the school year, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Fairchild Hall, Room 5D2. Call Jim Serpa or Pete Cohen, (719) 333-4470.

Adams State College Chess Club Meets Thursdays, 6:30 to 9:30 P.M. in the food court of the Student Union Building. For more information call Joe Kolupke at 719-589-9354. Email: jakolupke@adams.edu.

Boulder Chess Club meets Wednesdays at the Unviersity Memorial Center on CU Campus in room 382 starting at 6:30 PM. Carbondale Chess Club meets every Tuesday from 6pm until the wee hours at Kahhak Fine Arts & School, 411 Main St, Carbondale. All levels and ages are welcome and chess coaching is available. Casper Chess Club (Casper Wyoming), meets Tuesdays at 6:30 - 10:30 PM, St. Patrick's Church, 400 Country Club Rd, Casper, Wyoming.

The Cortez Chess Club meets every Tuesday at 5:30 at the Cortez Public Library at 202 N Park St. All are welcome. Contact Tom Hooten at Tom.Hooten@colostate.edu.

The Cottonwood Chess Club meets Wednesdays, 6-9 PM, at a coffee shop called Your Place, 2308 W. 17th St. in Greeley. Call Jay Shaeffer at (970) 356-2278.

Delta Chess Club meets every Tuesday evening (6:30 to 9:00 pm) at the Bill Heddles Recreation Center, 530 Gunnison River Drive. All levels of play are welcomed. We have occasional one round a week rated tournaments. Contact Bill Merrell at chessed2@aol.com.

The Longmont Chess Club meets Thursdays, from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. at Abbondanza Pizzeria, 461 Main St., in Longmont, Colorado.

The Pueblo Chess Club meets at the Barnes and Noble on Mondays, The Daily Grind Cafe on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Blitz Round Robin Tourneys on Thursdays only.
